▒ OVERVIEW⌗
The TAC-HX1 Modular Explosive Deployment Harness is a biologically-synchronized ordnance platform designed for exclusive dorsal interface with the XH-1 Chimera bioform. It extends XH-1’s operational capabilities by integrating a modular explosive system that allows for autonomous deployment of multiple munitions in combat scenarios. It broadens the asset’s tactical versatility, enabling it to engage a wider range of targets and environments without reliance on external command systems.
Engineered to preserve combat fluidity, enhance lethal precision, and bypass traditional signal-based detonation vulnerabilities, the system enables full neural control of munitions without external command uplink.
Integration with the subject’s Cognitive Control Stack enables seamless awareness, selection, and activation of munition pods as if they were natural appendages — a concept referred to internally as “somatic armament cognition.”
▒ STRUCTURAL INTERFACE⌗
- Anchor Method: Four-point armored harness with chest and undercarriage reinforcement straps; dermal-aligned with adaptive camouflage integration (subject’s chromatophores blend fabric passively)
- Material Composition: Flexible nanoweave composite with internal stress-gel overlays for recoil absorption
- Weight Load (Unloaded): 27.4 kg
- Max Load (Combat Config): Up to 120 kg including charge pods, obscurant canisters, environmental payloads, and auxiliary sustainment bladders
- Obscurant Launchers: Twin multispectral smoke/IR-jam dispersers forward-mounted on collar rail
- Sustainment Module (Optional): Twin dorsal-mount hydration and nutrient canisters (5–7L each), affixed as external hardpoints. Designed for rapid manual removal by the asset. Drinking hose is rear-facing and angled upward; the asset bends back to drink when stationary. Nutrient canister is sealed until deployed, allowing the asset to manually extract and consume contents in field conditions.
Note: These systems do not integrate with internal anatomy. The asset is trained to self-administer hydration and feed from carried reserves, supporting extended autonomous deployment without reliance on local resources.
▒ MUNITIONS⌗
Up to eight pods may be fitted in dorsal cradle array. Each pod is keyed to XH-1’s neural flexor index, allowing type-specific selection through conscious intent.
▒ Compatible Ordnance Types⌗
- SC-7: Shaped Charge — Armor penetration (up to 380 mm RHAe)
- HE-9: High Explosive — General anti-personnel use
- FRAG-6: Fragmentation — Area denial / infantry neutralization
- THB-4: Thermobaric — Enclosed space clearance
- EMP-C1 (Restricted): Electromagnetic pulse, short-range — drone/optics disruption
All units are self-arming in-flight, with mentally adjustable delay settings (0.2–3.5 sec typical). Chimera selects delay based on perceived environmental threat profile or target density.
▒ DEPLOYMENT METHODS⌗
░ Contact Charges (Slap-Mode)⌗
- Placed onto targets by tentacle or forelimb
- Adhesive gel activates on impact
- Detonation delay fully configurable via internal neural cue
░ Thrown Charges⌗
- Disc-shaped profile with self-righting orientation
- Thrown via discus-style arc using tentacle musculature
- In-flight stabilization fins and smart-surface coating
- Range: 6–25m depending on biomechanical torque and wind resistance
Note: No remote override. Once armed, munitions cannot be safely disarmed without manual removal. Subject is trained to suppress self-harm chain events.
▒ INTEGRATED PERCEPTION INTERFACE⌗
The explosive system is not visualized or interpreted as symbolic sensory input. It is felt — as innately and instinctively as an extension of the Chimera unit’s own motor schema. Each munition pod is mapped into XH-1’s proprioceptive field as a spatially embedded structure — not as weight, temperature, or pressure, but as present and usable, like a natural limb.
- Charge awareness is persistent and intuitive — the Chimera unit registers availability and position without active cognition.
- Selection occurs through reflexive targeting intent.
- Activation is triggered via conditioned neural flex, reinforced by compliance-loop logic.
The explosive system is embodied — part of the asset’s tactical self-image. No metaphor. The charges are the asset’s, and the asset feels them as part of itself.
▒ MAINTENANCE & RELOAD⌗
Reloading is performed manually without sedation. Subject is conditioned to stand still and adopt a compliant posture. No restraints are used.
- Pods are removed from dorsal rail manually
- New pods clipped in using keyed magnetic seating
- Neural handshake automatically registers presence and type
Reloads are conducted similarly to equipping a pack animal, with the Subject demonstrating high patience and stillness.
Note: Subject often watches handlers during reload. Behavioral drift indicators include tactile grooming of empty rail, low vocalizations.
▒ REDUNDANCY & FAILURE MODES⌗
- Misfire Prevention: Unless armed, pods remain inert and locked
- Harness Displacement: Requires physical unbuckling and two-point release — prevents field removal under duress
- Tamper Response: Subject may autonomously reject unauthorized access through evasive posture or tentacle repulsion
▒ NOTES ON BEHAVIORAL DRIFT⌗
Neural integration creates limbic association with the harness. Observed behaviors include:
- Protective posturing over spent pod mounts
- Reflexive checking of pod alignment using tentacle pressure
- Preference for familiar handler presence during reload
These behaviors are logged under non-interfering drift and require no corrective action unless aligned with broader affective deviation.
*It doesn’t wear the rig. It inhabits it. Like it’s part of the asset’s spine now.”
